We take every precaution to accommodate specialized dietary requests, including our extensive Gluten-Free, Vegan, and Keto options.
However, we must emphasize that our facilities process all major allergens. By placing an order, registering for a class or for a service, the client acknowledges and accepts the risk of cross-contact inherent in a multi-allergen commercial kitchen.
1. GENERAL FACILITY STATUS & ALLERGEN DISCLOSURE
Status of Facility: CATERING ABEU-SALEH! operates from a Commercial Kitchen (for catering production) and uses Shared Commercial Studio Spaces (for workshops). These facilities routinely handle all Canadian Priority Allergens.
Priority Allergens Processed: Wheat, Dairy, Eggs, Peanuts, Tree Nuts (Almonds, Walnuts, Pecans, etc.), Soy, Sesame, Fish, and Shellfish.
Risk Acknowledgment: While we follow strict internal cleaning and segregation protocols, we cannot guarantee that any item is 100% free of trace amounts of any allergen.
2. E-COMMERCE PRODUCTS (Boxes, Bites, Custom Cakes) & CATERING EVENTS (Drop-Off)
This section applies when ordering pre-made food for delivery or pickup.
- No Guarantee: Our team takes diligent steps to prevent cross-contamination during preparation (using dedicated utensils and cleaning surfaces). However, we cannot issue a “Zero-Allergen” guarantee for any finished product.
- Labeling: All products and menus clearly label the ingredients and potential high-risk allergens.
- Custom Requests: It is the client’s sole responsibility to clearly list all severe, life-threatening allergies in the mandatory field on the quote form or e-commerce checkout page.
- Assumption of Risk: Clients ordering for guests with severe, life-threatening, or anaphylactic allergies must assume the risk associated with food prepared in a shared commercial environment.
3. IN-PERSON CULINARY WORKSHOPS (Classes - Max 12 Participants)
This section details the heightened risk within the hands-on learning environment.
- Shared Equipment & Stations: All workshops are hands-on and are held in a shared commercial studio space. Students frequently share equipment, workstations, and use common sinks/utensils for cleaning and preparation.
- Instructor’s Role: The instructor will verbally outline the allergy risks and provide segregated ingredients for students with known allergies. However, the instructor cannot monitor the handling of ingredients by every individual student.
- Waiver of Liability: By checking the box and registering, the student acknowledges the risk of cross-contact is unavoidable in a group learning setting and agrees that CATERING ABEU-SALEH! and its instructors are not liable for allergic reactions incurred during the class or from consuming the product made in class.
4. MANDATORY CONSENT AND CONTACT
REQUIRED ACTION: The client must electronically check a box during checkout for all purchases (Catering, E-commerce, Workshops) stating:
